Overview

Equivalent to year one of a degree course, this is your chance to benefit from the practical music industry expertise and innovative teaching methods that Point Blank is known for, whilst also achieving an internationally recognised Higher Education qualification awarded by Middlesex University. The Cert HE in Music Production and Business will enable you to make cutting edge music in your chosen style with professional techniques, taught by our highly experienced music producers. From the beginnings of music production through to highly advanced techniques, you will learn how to create House, Hip Hop, and Remixes in many styles. Sound Design and Art of Mixing complete your skills as a producer and you’ll also learn key business skills and acquire industry contacts to help you launch your career in music. This includes how to promote and sell your music online. This programme is taken entirely online and therefore you do not need to be in the UK. There are 12 assignments to complete throughout the year, 6 practical and 6 written. This programme is worth 120 credits at HE level. (Subject to validation)

Entry Requirements

Normal minimum entry requirements are 1 'A' Level and Maths and English Language GCSEs at grade 'C' or above; or a BTEC National Award, Certificate or Diploma or equivalent depending on your territory and education system (for information on equivalency CLICK HERE). For mature students of 21 years or above we are happy to look at prior learning. The minimum IELTS level accepted for this programme is 6.0. Applicants invited to telephone interview must also be able to demonstrate a basic level of musical ability and provide examples of their work.
